If former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney fools around and gets elected President then the people who vote for him will get just what they deserve, and they will illustrate how gullible and easily misled White people are.
Ever since President Barack Obama took office, a lot of conservative analysts and politicians have been reiterating a collective “oops.” Some have gone so far as to say–and to work hard at making sure it comes to pass–”I hope he fails,” even if it means the country goes down the tubes in the process.
The bitter truth is that many people in responsible positions of leadership would rather see the entire country suffer, than to see it prosper under the leadership of this Black President. Mitt Romney and his Timothy McVeigh Party (also known as Republicans) cohorts have been banking on this notion, Continue reading
Long before the Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s so-called “Liberation Theology” nearly cost then Sen. Barack Obama the presidency in 2008, the bedrock tenets of that teaching had been established and made firm. There have literally been millions of words preached and recited, even sung, which bear witness to the truth of that philosophy. Liberation Theology is as sound as Gospel.
The great abolitionist Frederick Douglass–in his immortal July 5, 1852 address called “What to the American slave is Your Fourth of July”–said it ever so plainly.
“I answer: a day that reveals to him, more than all other days in the year, the gross injustice and cruelty to which he is the constant victim. To him, your celebration is a sham; your boasted liberty, an unholy license; your national greatness, swelling vanity; your sounds of rejoicing are empty and heartless; your denunciation of tyrants, brass-fronted impudence; your shouts of liberty and equality, hollow mockery; your prayers and hymns, your sermons and thanksgivings, with all your religious parade and solemnity, are, to Him, mere bombast, fraud, deception, impiety, and hypocrisy-a thin veil to cover up crimes which would disgrace a nation of savages.” Continue reading
Is America headed into a race war inside its borders? The United States has rushed into a handful of foolish wars over the course of the last 50 years. But what war isn’t a fool’s errand, by definition? But I digress.
The bitter reality is that this country has not “won” a war–not even a proxy war when people other than Americans have been fighting and dying–this country has not won a war since World War II. The warmongers who dictate this country’s foreign policy make the same mistake over and over again. They think they can win a war by “winning” it. Wrong. Continue reading
Whenever I heard someone repeat the term “Obamacare,” I used to cringe. It was used as a way to insult the 2010 Affordable Care Act (ACA)–the major healthcare reform legislation signed into law by President Barack Obama. But maybe I’ll soon stop cringing about the expression.
The idea was to make the law sound bad to the nation’s nitwits in this country, who don’t read, and who are hard to lead in the right direction, but easily led in the wrong direction, by pinning the President’s name to it. There are tens of millions of Americans–most of them White–who are so bigoted, who are so closed minded, that they will vote against provisions and candidates who are in their own best interest, just because they don’t want to see Black people gain any advantage whatsoever. These people would rather see the country fail, than to see Black people in general, and this Black President in particular succeed. Continue reading
